Shunde has three inland ports for container loading, unloading and transport because of its intersecting watercourses. All ports are close to expressway or national highway (express highway). The Rongqi, Beijiao and Leliu Ports have 35 berths and can berth 3,000-ton vessels, with an annual throughput of over 400,000 TEU and 4.5 million tons of bulk cargo. Agencies of major shipping companies in the world, such as Maersk, APL, P&O, Sealand, CAL, MYK, are stationed in the terminals, and have established business relations with such ports as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Wuhan, Shanghai, Nanjing, Dalian, Qingdao and Tianjin, realizing multimodal ocean cargo transport and domestic shipping.
The Shunde Customs has also connected the above freight terminals to the China E-port System and introduced computer online management, closed-circuit TV monitoring, intelligent stockyard management, an intelligent gate release system and a container inspection system, facilitating the customs clearance of cargo greatly. The Shunde Port – the only passenger port of Shunde – is opposite to the Park across a river, where a luxury liner between Shunde and Hong Kong is available, with sailing time of one hour and 45 minutes, available in 12 voyages to and from Shunde from 7:30 am to 20:20 pm every day. |
