The Shunde Science and Technology Industrial Park (of the Foshan National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone ) was founded in June 2003 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, with a total area of 45 square kilometers, including the three areas of Daliang, Ronggui and Xingtan, connected closely by the Desheng Bridge, Rongqi Bridge and the newly-built Gaozan Bridge into a large-scale, high-standard industrial park.
There are currently over 1,000 enterprises in the park, including famous domestic brands such as Hisense-Kelon, Galanz, Vanward, Canbo, Dymatic Chemicals, Universal Pharmaceutical, and numerous famous foreign funded enterprises such as Nortel Networks (Canada), Tyco International (U.S.), Axon Cable (France), Wacker (Germany), Pramac (Italy), Hong Fu Loi (Hong Kong), Panasonic (Japan), GMCC, Toyota Gosei, Aisin Seiki, Tokai Rika, Aisan Industry, Sumitomo, Koyo, Lioho, in the Park. In 2006, the Park fulfilled a gross industrial output value of 37.14 billion yuan, a GDP of 9.72 billion yuan and a tax payment of 1.1 billion yuan. The Park has become a pillar of economic growth, a key platform of technological innovation and a strong impetus to industrial restructuring of Shunde gradually. |
