Zone A of the Park (Wusha Area) has a total area of 11.3square kilometers and borders Panyu, Guangzhou to the east, just 20 minutes’ drive away from the Nansha Port, Guangzhou; it connects the new urban area of Shunde, enjoying the supporting functions of administration, business, finance, consulting, education, culture, conference and exhibition; it is also the “east gate” of Shunde leading to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan and other medium and small cities. The Park is convenient in traffic and is connected mainly by the Tai-Ao Expressway (south extension of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Line), Panyu West Trunk Line, Shunde-Panyu Highway, Nanshun Inter-city Rail, opposite to the Shunde Port – the only passenger port of Shunde – across a river.
According to the plan, Zone A of the Park is defined as a R&D, incubation center and production base for high and new technology industries. For more than four years since its foundation, the Park has introduced 103 enterprises and 120 projects, including 12 projects involving the world’s Top 500 enterprises and two projects involving China’s Top 500 enterprises. The Park is estimated to attain a total investment of over RMB12 billion yuan and an annual output value of at least RMB 38 billion yuan at its full production capacity. By 2007, 71 trial-run enterprises have been set up, and an output value of RMB 3.3 billion yuan be generated in 2007.
Meanwhile, infrastructural construction is being promoted greatly on a full scale in the Park, with a cumulative capital investment of over 2 billion yuan, including the road network, power network, sewer network and other works, landscaping, lighting, water conservancy and other municipal facilities, facilitating the infrastructural improvement of the Park effectively. In addition, the Park’s capability to build a complete environmental system is improving, in which an employee’s village, substations and standard industrial buildings have been built. The European Industrial Park tailored to international small and medium enterprises has a total planning area of 180,000 square meters. Standard industrial buildings with a total area of 55,000 square meters are planned in first phase construction, in which buildings of 23,000 square meters have been completed and available for operation. The hotel, administration and business center and sewage treatment plant are being planned and under construction. |
